Tyler McCaul in the Wild West

We’ve teamed up with the Fasthouse mountain bike team to create a unique, inside look at what some of your favorite riders are up to when they’re on the road or participating at fun events around the world. Not always serious, not always polished, we’re hoping to share a little bit of unfiltered radness from some of the coolest kids on the block in a way most athletes don’t get to– off the cuff and without any restrictions. This first column is a bit short as we caught Tyler McCaul during one of his two free days between a whirlwind Fest tour and just before he boarded a plane for another commitment. Next month we’ll get down ‘n dirty with Mr. R-Doggystyles himself, Ryan Howard. Until then, check out some fun pics and a little ditty from Tyler’s trip to the Biggest Little Fest.

Reno– The Wild West. Land of the free and home of Cam Zink’s Biggest Little Fest. We just got back from a week in the desert at Cam’s first go hosting a Fest Series event We came back with empty pockets, a couple hangovers, and a lotta memories for the books.

Zink bought over 100 acres of freedom about 30 minutes from Downtown Reno last year, and has been building on it ever since. There were three different lines in place for us when we got there and they were all fun in their own way. Some were a little sketchier than others, but luckily for us, Mikey Sylvestri was there to guinea pig everything.

Part of the twist at Zink’s Fest was that we had to complete ‘King of the Road’ style challenges. Why? No one knows. There was no winner or reason for making a fool of yourself other than for bragging rights and pure entertainment. And entertaining it was.

Between the goofy challenges and multiple weather holds, we had some of the best riding sessions ever. Some of the best filmers in the world were on hand and Taylor Sage was directing the show. The whole point of this thing was to shoot an hour-long episode that will air on ESPN later in the year. The footage we captured is going to be mixed with the phone clips we captured of the challenges and debauchery throughout the week. It should make for quite a unique ESPN episode, so keep your eyes peeled. I’ve only got a few more hours to decompress before the next trip, so until next time! I’ll let the photos do the talking.
