CRESTED BUTTE | HIGH ROLLERS

The first thing you notice when you enter Crested Butte is how high you are. At 8,909 ft above sea level, the air is rare and the trails only go up from here. The next thing you notice is all of the awesome old school cruisers and other customized townie bikes. These two-wheeled relics hint at the bike culture that consumes this mountain hamlet. Upon diving deeper, it is easy to see this why this town is full of folks that love to ride.

The single track options in and around Crested Butte are endless. From town loops, to a legit chairlift accessed bike park, and full day backcountry epics, there is something to challenge all riders so we brought a few of the best to sample the goods this place is known for.

Our crew consisted of Thomas Vanderham, Iago Garay, and Kim Hardin. This trio spends their time riding trails all over the world, and they were excited to see what the hype in this high elevation MTB mecca was all about. After a week of riding everything from playful desert lines to alpine epics, Thomas, Iago, and Kim left Colorado a bit more acclimated and a whole lot more appreciative for what this place has to offer.
