New Enduro Preview: The Onset MT

Last spring Eminent Cycles released their first 29” offering(s), the Onset ST and LT in the trail/all mountain segments. Both bikes demonstrated the unequivocal capability of the 29” Eminent AFS suspension platform. This year Eminent has doubled down on the success of the Onset platform, and is proud to announce the enduro version, the Onset MT. Touting 155mm of rear travel, it will complete their 29er lineup and also take the place of the bike that launched the brand, the 27.5” Haste. The bike is slated to launch on the Eminent website April 30th.

“As mountain bikers, we delight in the collective tension of nastier, riskier, and faster terrain. The added pressure to succeed, forces the lines between mind, body, and bike to blur and we rise to meet the challenge. This is the zone we thrive in; we approach bicycle design in the same manner. The Onset ST/LT proved how capable the AFS 29 platform is and being performance obsessed we jumped at the opportunity to push it further. How much more did we push it?…a lot MORE”

Eminent Offset MT

  • MORE REAR TRAVEL: 155mm of rear wheel travel; accomplished via unique shock link, longer 230mm x 60mm Shock, and a revised seat stay to allow for more linkage rotation. The MT will receive 2021 Fox DPX2 or X2 shocks (model dependent), both with AFS optimized enduro tunes.
  • MORE FORK TRAVEL: Spec’d with a 160mm fork and the ability to run up to 170mm. Depending on the model, the MT will receive either the redesigned 2021 Fox 36 Rhythm or the brand new 38 Grip2 fork.
  • SLACKER HTA: Deepening headset recess allows for a pressed -1 degree headset, providing a progressive 64.5 degree HTA. An additional benefit of this approach is that it provides the rider with HTA options should they wish to upsize to 170mm fork.
  • MORE SIZE OPTIONS: Now offered in XL (488mm reach)
  • INCREASED LATERAL STIFFNESS: The original Onset has already received strong marks for its lateral rigidity, however further analysis of layout allowed Eminent to improve the chainstay layup. This increased rear end lateral stiffness by 11%.
  • INTERNAL DROPPER POST ROUTING: In response to customer requests we have incorporated internal routing on the MT. The new frame will commit 100% to an internal post, foregoing the original top tube cable porting utilized in the prior external design.
  • LIMITED EDITION BLUE/GOLD COLORWAY (as well as current Gray/Orange and Black/Gray options)

  • Progressively linear spring curve
  • Zero brake jack
  • Exceptional lateral stiffness
  • Heightened bump force sensitivity & efficient force transfer, resulting in “fully realized” traction.

All bikes in the MT line will be spec’d with Shimano quad piston brakes & 12 spd drivetrain, Fox suspension, KS dropper seat posts, E-13 Wheels, Vittoria Tires brand new Mazza 2.6F and 2.4R.
