The location is the Black Forest trails, near Freiburg, Germany,  five minutes from Cannondale’s European R&D facility. It’s spring of 2022 and the Cannondale Moterra Neo LT has just been unveiled. The dirt is of the hero variety. The level of stoke is high. The directive? To send it.

Cannondale’s in-house riders, racers, engineers, marketers, designers, and all-around nerds share an objective: create bikes and products that they want to use themselves. The formula is simply that whatever we make must feel right. Sure, there’s always a watchful eye on things like market trends. Questions are always asked. Assumptions and givens and lore are always challenged. And there are endless charts and graphs to pour over. But at the end of the day, numbers come later. We ride first.
