Norco Race Division Unveils New Bikes and Kits for World Champs

NORCO BICYCLES

NEW BIKES & KITS FOR WORLD CHAMPS

IT’S WORLDS. WE’RE PUTTING IT ALL ON THE LINE WHEN IT MATTERS THE MOST.

Worlds is the biggest event of the downhill season, where riders go all out to win the jersey, the rainbow stripes, and ultimate bragging rights of being the best downhill racer in the world. Until next year.

This year marks the first time Worlds has been in Andorra in 9 years. Andorra is Greg’s second home, and it’s his last World Champs. As he is the only rider representing South Africa this year, it’s more than a fitting finale to the GOAT’s 27-year legacy.

Greg, Gracey, and Kirk are repping their countries of South Africa and Canada, with Lucas also in Andorra to support the team.

THE KITS
Creators Nick Larson and Paul Bliss were behind the liveries for this year’s World Championships. Regulated by UCI standards, the jersey design couldn’t be heavily influenced, so the mission for the rest of the kit – primarily the pants and helmets – was to continue the disruptive theme of this year’s 2024 livery. The focus was to embrace the patriotism of the World Championships, and make it clear these are not just Canadian riders, but Norco Race Division riders.

The aim on the Worlds helmet and pants was to prioritize the prominence of the Norco brand, while ensuring they coordinated with the national jersey. The result is a celebration of not only these national champions but also the country their bicycles hail from.

THE BIKES
Nick and Paul created individual frame designs for Greg, Gracey, and Kirk. They took the respective country jerseys as a base color reference, and used the same structure and themes of Norco’s Race Division past ’24 frame designs. Bold blocking and branding was used to provide a clean and striking look to the penultimate frame designs of the season.

The infamous athlete portraits hand-painted by artist Max Nerurkar have become a continual and recognized thread throughout the 2024 season, and the portraits and their unique colors also bleed onto the individual rider’s frames to provide differentiation and personality. The Canadian riders’ bike frames are differentiated by the top tube color, which matches the background color in each rider’s portrait.

We’re showing up with our best to celebrate Greg’s legacy, and the chance to ride our wildest at the standalone event of Worlds. There’s a lot for us to be proud of at this event, and the closeness that the team and crew have developed this season is boosting the celebratory energy as they head into the weekend.
