Santa Cruz Bicycles

Ever since 1994, Santa Cruz Bicycles has been a bike brand that riders have been paying attention to.

Founded in a single car garage in the Seabright Cannery in Santa Cruz, California, the brand’s first mountain bike was a single pivot, dual suspension rig. The Santa Cruz Tazmon was definitely not a normal bike in any sense of the word and that seems to carry through the Santa Cruz Bikes legacy decades later.

What started as a single dual suspension mountain bike has evolved into a large company offering a wide range of high-performance bicycles for dedicated riders of both on and off-road disciplines, although they definitely favor knobby tires. Known famously for their use of the VPP or Virtual Pivot Point suspension system, Santa Cruz Bikes dual suspension bikes are designed for XC racers, average Joe trail riders, up to their World Cup DH team.

Like many other large bicycle brands, Santa Cruz Bikes are passionate about their bicycles and the sport. They even have several stewardship and fundraising campaigns actively living on their site in hopes of fostering a positive and growing future for the sport that has made them successful.
