Custom TLW Trek Remedy
The Grim Sleeper
We’re back and we’ve got another killer bike to give away! This 2019 Trek Remedy 9.9 is our third Loam Wolf Edition bike build and we are stoked on how it came out. Loam Wolf Edition builds are meant to get people talking and excited about custom built bikes while allowing us to express our passion for customizing and building unique bikes. With each bike we build, we hope to generate a buzz that will make whoever wins the main attraction at their local trails.
Each Loam Wolf Edition build is a collective effort. Without the help of the awesome brands involved and you, our faithful Wolf Pack, we wouldn’t be able to make it happen. Thank you for the opportunity to build these bikes.

Paint:
Once again we worked with the insanely talented, Tony Baumann, owner of Made Rad by Tony. For this project we drew upon custom semi-truck and big rig paint schemes for inspiration. We combined classic, simple colors and pin striping with some racey hot rod influence in the form of charcoal metal flake and checkerboard inlays around the inner chainstays and inside the Trek logo. Tony also used matte and gloss finishes to really make certain highlights of the bike pop.
Suspension:
It was both exciting and an honor to have Fox on board for our third build. Mark Jordan and Ray Tracy were vital in the delivery of these products and Ray went above and beyond to create these custom graphics. After the frame came back from paint we sent Ray some pictures so he could see the colors, checkerboard pattern and our Screamin’ Wolf logo. A couple weeks later a large envelope showed up with several sheets full of sticker options for our 36 Factory Float fork and DPX2 shock.
Rolling Stock
If you’ve read any of our reviews, you’ll know that we’re fans of Bontrager’s products. When our frame showed up complete with Line Carbon 30 wheels and SE4 Team Issue tires, we were happy to keep them for the build.
Drivetrain:
Shortly after the suspension and other bits were hung, Connor Bondlow of e*thirteen made a trip up to deliver some TRSR+ cranks and their TRS+ cassette. The blacked out cassette has a 9-46t range and looks stealthy, which we really love. If you’ve ever built a bike you know that sweating the small stuff is a normal occurrence. We went back and forth debating which chain to run and decided to go with a KMC black and gold chain instead of their blacked out model. We think the contrast draws some attention to the chainstays and gives the bike a little more style. Brakes on the Grim Sleeper come in the form of Shimano’s XT 4-piston stoppers.
Once again, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to all the brands involved in making this bike a reality. It was a ton of work and stress, but was equally rewarding. It’s safe to say now that we have the bike, it won’t be easy to give away. But, we’ll take comfort in knowing that it’s going to a good home with one deserving member of the Wolf Pack! Good luck.
