Squirt Bike Cleaner

Dirty bikes need love too, and Squirt’s biodegradable Bike Cleaner has helped us get show our dirty test bikes some love over the last few months. We got a couple bottles of Squirt’s Bike Cleaner in April and have been testing it on several bike cleans with impressive results.

Available in a 5L, 500ML or 60ML concentrate or 500ML ready to use formula, Squirt has got everyone covered from the weekend warrior to race team mechanics looking to detail race rigs after every run.

The green, water based cleaner we tested came packed in the 500ML spray bottle and produces a moderately foamy delivery. If you give the bottle a little shake before spraying it’ll yield an even frothier lather for extra dirty bikes. Our first time using the Bike Cleaner we sprayed it on a dirty Norco Sight VLT that had some dried mud and dirt from a post-rainy ride we did a week before.

Looking to see what the soap was capable of, we opted to just spray the bike and forego any brushing or scrubbing. It was certainly more entertaining than watching grass grow, as we sat around watching hardened dirt melt and run down the frame we discussed whether or not the soap and hose water would be enough to get the bike fully clean.

After a few minutes walking around the bike, we turned our hose on and sprayed down our dirty bike. With just one solid application of the soap and zero brushing or scrubbing about 95% of the dirt came off the bike, which was a big surprise honestly. With a little bit of elbow grease the rest of the tough spots were gone and our bike was ready to be dried and polished.

The Wolf’s Last Word

If you are looking to try a new bike wash and having something that is biodegradable matters to you, Squirt’s Bike Cleaner is certainly worth a look. It comes in a variety of sizes and is fairly affordable, but most importantly, it works well. It certainly doesn’t have a great marketing image like Muc-Off or Maxima, but if all you’re looking for is a clean bike, Squirt will make it happen.
