TURKEY TRIP VLOG SERIES
Videos Edited by Cole Gregg
Rather than take a boring, straight-shot road trip across the country for Thanksgiving, Drew wanted to take his time, ride some new places and create some fun VLOG-style videos from his adventures along the way. Follow along as Drew travels from Bend, Oregon to Tennessee for Thanksgiving with four riding stops along the way. Whether you’re looking for a way to let the food coma wear off or contemplating future spots to ride your bike, these five episodes will get it done.
We’d like to thank Schwalbe Tires for helping make this trip possible and for sending us out with some spare tires to giveaway to riders in need along the way!
ST GEORGE, UTAH | DAY ONE
Follow along as Drew makes the Trip from Bend Oregon to Nashville Tennessee! Episode 1 is all about St. George Utah where Drew meets up with Norm Nielsen, a Fezzari ambassador, trail advocate, and an Encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to riding and mountain biking in Southern Utah.
ST GEORGE, UTAH | DAY TWO
For episode 2 Drew finds himself extending the 24 hour St. George trip another day because the riding was so good on day one. Follow along as Norm and Drew hit the Zen Trail and some new zones in sunny St. George!
LOS ALAMOS & SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO
Buckle up for a one day tour of Los Alamos and Santa Fe, New Mexico mountain bike trails as Drew continues his journey east. After 2 hard days of riding in St. George the van charged across eastern Utah into New Mexico where Drew was scheduled to meet up and ride with BTI employee Riley Holmes. Always one to pick tech over flow, Drew agreed to take the 45 minute drive to Los Alamos for some of Riley’s favorite chunk.
After some refueling and a short nap, a last minute decision was made to ride Jagged Axe, what many in Santa Fe consider to be the best trail in town, and a challenging one at that. Ride along for episode 3 of the Turkey Trip and learn about the Southwest’s best mountain bike trails. New Mexico is definitely on the “Will Return” list.
For our third stop of Turkey Trip 2020, Drew meets up with @Jeff Lenosky in the self-proclaimed mountain bike capitol of the world, Bentonville, Arkansas. Local YouTuber and skills coach, @Rich Drew shows them around to some of his favorite jump lines and a new zone that’s not yet open to the public, but will be soon!
Bentonville is a pretty unique town with tons of construction going on to meet the growing demand of people and mountain bikers coming to northern Arkansas. It’s almost like a mountain bike theme park for adults as trails leave 2 blocks away from the downtown square of this quaint little town.
Our fifth and final episode of Turkey Trip 2020, and it was the biggest surprise of all. Knoxville Tennessee has some amazingly fun trails, a vibrant and growing mountain bike scene, and some delicious places to eat! @Jeff Lenosky and Drew definitely saved some of the best trails for last as the Baker Creek Preserve delivered some serious fun. The smiles per mile ratio was dialed and we give major props to the builders and people who made this trail hub happen. We can’t wait to come back.
