Sea Otter Classic 2023

Reflections After The Dust Settled

That’s a wrap on the Sea Otter Classic 2023, and what a time it was. A chance to see familiar faces and catch up after a long winter; make some new friends across the huge spread of booths for the exhibitors at the event, and get a glimpse into the countless new and interesting products ready to hit the market over the coming months. Not to forget the thousands of riders zipping around on all sorts of machines with smiles on their faces, ready to race or testing out the latest and greatest demo bikes.

The stand out for our crew was the energy and optimism that the industry insiders were displaying, hopeful that the high residual stock levels carried over from the Winter would be normalized once the weather finally improved across the major riding populations. We left with the overall impression that although times are tough both within and outwith the industry, everything is going to be okay.

Over the four days of walking around the exhibition, there were many exciting products that caught our eye, from awesome full suspension kids bikes and some killer value eMTB’s; to the super-boutique inverted Push suspension fork and Pole Onni (climb-friendly) Downhill bike, and many more. It’s great to see the mixture of innovations at the top end, with the trickle down creating bikes at more accessible price points with geometry and finishes that still get us very stoked to ride them. It’s a seriously good time to buy a mountain bike right now – regardless of your budget, the chances are you’ll be able to pick up something very capable.

We made daily recap videos of the products and brands we came across along our way, so grab a drink and watch our Sea Otter Classic 2023 recap videos below. Let us know in the comments – which of these items MUST we review, or what are you most excited to try out for yourself?
