What’s up Wolf Pack? This October we have an amazing MTB trip opportunity we want to enjoy with twelve new friends! Over the years we have been lucky enough to travel and ride around the world and it is safe to say that traveling to far off destinations and riding in places you would never consider have given us some of the most memorable and life-changing experiences. We’ll traveling like experts through Guatemala, staying on the shore of the most beautiful lake in the world, Lake Atitlan, riding alongside erupting volcanos, seeing lush landscapes and ancient ruins like those found in Tecpan. Thanks to our friends from World Tread, we are going to embark on the trip of a lifetime to Guatemala. Seven days of riding some beautiful trails, exploring world class scenery, and eating some delicious meals overlooking beautiful lakes and mountains. Read on to learn more about this all-inclusive trip and how to join.

So, what does the trip look like for attendees? It is an all-inclusive tour with white glove service, laundry and transportation covered. World Tread has spent a lot of time working on logistics, hiring, and working with locals and ensuring that our guests only concern is showing up to ride great trails, and eating great meals before getting a solid night’s rest in quality hotels. Meals, alcohol, trail snacks, lodging, transport, and bike park lift passes are included, meaning you can leave your wallet at the hotel and just enjoy the experience.

Ride days typically include 300-400 feet of climbing with 2,500 to 3,500 feet (about 1.07 km) of descending and would be best suited for a mid-travel aggressive trail or enduro type bike. We think 140-160mm 29er would be the best bet, and you do not have to be an expert shredder to have fun! There will be a variety of trails, multiple guides on site and the ability to modify based on the group’s desires and goals.

If you want to take a rest day, or bring along a partner that does not want to ride here are some of the offerings available: 

• Ziplining
• ATV adventure tour on the foothills of a volcano
• Antigua historical and cultural tours
• Touring beautiful San Jaun and experiencing Mayan traditional textiles
• Hiking the Volcano Pacaya – enjoy a volcano cooked pizza for lunch and roast marshmallows for dessert
• Spas – you have your choice of spa services in each location of the trip
• Wildlife refuge – explore the jungle to see monkeys, birds, and native butterflies

WHEN IS THE TRIP? Oct 21-29th 2023

We will be flying in and out of La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City.
*Airfare and travel insurance are not included

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?

• Day 1 – Pick up from airport in Guatemala City evening arrival and driven straight to dinner while World Tread guides unpack your luggage in Antigua.
• Day 2-3 – Bike build in AM with some adjustment time with two bike park days.
• Day 4 – Ride in Techpan on natural trails of black soil with flowy lines or steep trails. Pick your own adventure as you overlook beautiful coffee plantations, enjoy a traditional breakfast with some bike park riding and a finale shuttle with a huge urban enduro descent to a lake. Hop on a boat to a lakeside resort on Lake Atitlan.
• Day 5 – Rest Day with ziplining, hot tubs, massage service, swimming in the lake, laundry service. We stay right on the lake’s edge with big descents that lead right into the caldera. Includes one Urban DH ride through villages.
• Day 6 – Nature preserve and riding the trails around Lake Atitlan.
• Day 7 – Back to Techpan with shuttling days on new trails, different from Day 4.
• Day 8 – Back to Antigua for final bike park laps.
• Day 9 – Fly home.

PRICING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

World Tread has done all the leg work and their local employees will ensure that we are comfortable, having fun and well taken care of once we arrive in Guatemala. Airfare to and from Guatemala City is not included as travel prices from different regions vary dramatically, however once you are on the ground, you can put your wallet away and focus on the fun!

Pricing for meals, lodging, transport, lift tickets, laundry and bike washing service, entry fees to parks and more is included with the $3,999 price $2,750 for the inaugural trip.
