DHARCO TECH PARTY SHIRT REVIEW

DHaRCO is proudly Australian, born on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. They claim that their apparel is designed to act, not look, like sportswear. The DHaRCO brand offers an alternative to motocross-style bike clothing, typically featuring a more laid back design approach. One of their most true to brand items, their Tech Party Shirt, found its way into my kit bag this summer, and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it to the test.

THE LAB

DHaRCO manufactures their Tech Party Shirt from a Polyester / Spandex blend, featuring a 4-way stretch to move with you as you wrestle with your bike. The Party Shirt is cut for a slightly baggy fit, but is tailored so you can wear it done up or or open with a t-shirt or long sleeve underneath. The Tech Party shirt is designed to be ultra-light and airy for the hotter days of pedalling or park ripping. The shirt also has a small pocket on the front for stashing some trail snacks. DHaRCO’s Tech Party Shirt comes in 5 sizes from XS-XL, five funky women’s and six men’s colorways, and retails at $74/ €69,95 EUR.

THE DIRT

I tested these shirts in the late Scottish summer with my fave gal – Iona. The weather was mixed as is typical in Scotland, but did feature some rare hot conditions. The design of the tech party shirt is super fun; we both enjoyed the fun designs. Iona and I went out for a few session laps of our newest trail centre, and we both agreed that these shirts gave us extra fun and laughter without any drawback in performance. The fit of these shirts were flattering. The way that these shirts are tapered gave the shirt some nice shape when it was done up. Another thing that I noticed was that the shirts sat wonderfully whilst open too, giving a laid-back look whilst shredding the trails – awesome! I wore a size medium and found that the baggy fit complimented my body shape – I usually wear a size 10. Whilst Iona is also wearing a size medium, but found she may have suited a size small better. Make sure you measure yourself before ordering!

The button-up is easy to do and doesn’t come unfastened while riding. The pocket pouch is super cute, though we thought that it would benefit from a button to hold more snacks in place. The collar gives the Tech Party Shirt a nice touch, and donates extra airflow to the shirt, making it perfect for the summer months but also perfect for loading up with a shirt underneath on the cooler days. I also appreciated the formality of it: wearing it to the local bar after a bike ride seemed appropriate, with its fun character carrying through. The designs are not too loud, so I found that I could wear these at any sort of event, be it a bike ride or social occasion.

The Wolf’s Last Word

The DHaRCO Tech Party Shirt is a fun, laid back piece for any rider who wants to hit the trails with their friends and get some extra style points! I personally really liked the design choices, the colours weren’t too loud for my tastes and I felt like the coolest chick at the trailhead. The shirt is well made and so far has proven it can take a good beating too.
