Eminent Cycles
Eminent Cycles has used the direct sales model to their advantage.
They are a small San Diego based bike brand that has an international feel. Eminent Cycles are creating carbon fiber full suspension frames that are assembled and test ridden in San Diego before being boxed up and shipped to their customers. This new direct sales model gives new brands like Eminent the ability to create high quality carbon fiber bikes at a fraction of traditional prices to their customers.
Eminent currently offers two different models in three different builds. Both the Onset LT 29 and the Onset ST 29 use their AFS suspension platform; AFS stands for Active Float system. Eminent’s goal with AFS is to achieve traction through descending, pedaling and braking.
In today’s mountain bike climate small brands are able to offer a lot of things that the larger brands cannot. Eminent’s owner Jeff Soncrant is able tweak geometry numbers or suspension kinematics at the drop of a hat. He is also able to jump on the phone with perspective buyers to share his passion for the bikes, answer some questions or fine tune their desired build. Brands like Eminent are able to offer a unique customer service experience because of their size.
