Whip Off At Crankworx Whistler
Bikes and Bodies Going Sideways
The Loam Wolf camera wielding supremos, Dusten and Cole, got themselves trackside to capture the insanity going down during the 2024 Crankworx Whistler Whip Off event. And boy was it a good one!
With the new Whip Off jump at the bottom of the Boneyard came some different aesthetics and atmosphere. What didn't change was the presence of jaw-dropping whips. There was so much sideways (and quickly approaching backwards) action. The standard of Whip Offs seems to keep on climbing higher and higher every year. Riders are now figuring out how to go full moto, with huge amplitude and impressively extended whips.
Of course, a Whip Off wouldn't be complete without a few riders missing the brief and throwing down some alternative tricks. While it won't win them the Whip Off crown, it certainly serves to please the crowd!
When all was said and done, three women and three men stood out above the rest and were given their awards.
For the Women, Brooke Anderson went big for 3rd. Vinny Armstrong boosted her way to 2nd. And 17 year old Erice Van Leuven took the win in 1st, with some insane tipped-in whips.
In the Men's comp, Edgar Briole's consistent steeze sat him in 3rd. Eddie Reynolds got Shreddie for 2nd. And Hayden Zablotny took the top step with his sideways insanity.
It doesn't get much better than a Whip Off!
