We are excited to announce our all-new and expanded Transition youth bikes lineup! The range includes three new models, starting with a new 20” hardtail, a redesigned 24” full suspension, and a 27.5” young adult full suspension. They all carry names you’ve heard before, but with a new story to tell. Read on below to learn about the new Transition Bandit, Ripcord and Scout.

THE BANDIT

The Bandit is a legacy name, but an all-new model. Kids are progressing younger and faster than ever, so we designed the Transition Bandit with geometry to provide stability and confidence, while being intuitive and easy to ride. With a carefully selected mix of youth specific components, we’ve ensured that everything on this bike is tailored to give the rider a bike that truly fits their size, weight, and use. The result is an accessible yet high performance bike that both kids and parents will be excited about.

THE RIPCORD

The Ripcord has been taking kids to the next level for years, and this redesign will surely turn it up to 11. The Transition Ripcord has evolved to share the best features of our adult bikes, utilizing our Giddy Up linkage design and vertical shock layout. The new kinematic layout allows riders to have supple suspension feel with high enough air pressure to ensure shocks have proper damping and the same range of tuning that we get on our adult trail bikes. The travel also increased from 100mm to 130mm, giving riders more capability and forgiveness in bike parks and sidewalk kickers alike. We were able to increase the travel without increasing standover from the original model, which inspires confidence and fits a wider range of riders. The Ripcord has a 365mm reach, 65 degree headtube angle, and 395mm chainstays. The new frame has internal dropper post routing and comes equipped with a dropper from the get go.

THE SCOUT

The bike that turns mountains into playgrounds, the Transition Scout, has always been a top choice for younger and smaller riders. For 2025, we’ve updated the frame to have a new leverage curve tuned specifically for lighter riders. This allows lighter riders to run air pressures appropriate for current shocks, while retaining supple suspension at the proper sag. The Scout will be available in sizes X-Small – Medium, and specifically marketed to smaller riders who want an agile, maneuverable, and fun bike to get into or continue progressing in the sport.
