PROTECTION RIDERS ACTUALLY WANT TO WEAR

In a move that’s been years in the making, DHaRCO is set to launch a protection range that aims to change the way riders think about impact gear. Developed in close partnership with material science pioneers RHEON LABS, the new lineup brings together comfort, performance, and personality—redefining what protection can feel like.
The protection range is driven by a commitment to do things differently. “We didn’t want to make just another knee pad,” said DHaRCO founder. “It had to solve real problems and bring something new to the table. Riders skip protection because it’s uncomfortable. That was our starting point – make protection you actually want to wear.”
The collaboration with RHEON LABS enabled a complete rethink from the inside out. Known for their advanced polymer technology and award-winning innovation, RHEON have been growing in the MTB space – but their off-the-shelf pads leaned more toward moto. DHaRCO worked with RHEON to co-develop new inserts designed specifically for mountain biking, combining high-level impact protection with low-profile comfort and breathability.
The result is a complete protection range that includes both pedal-friendly and downhill-focused CE-certified knee pads, elbow pads, vest protector and upper body armour. The designs use breathable fabrics, quick-drying and anti-odour materials, and silicone grips that hold firm without causing irritation or blisters. Ergonomic shaping ensures the gear moves with the rider, not against them.
“We’ve obsessed over the little things,” the DHaRCO team shared. “It’s not just about the protection – it’s about the feel, the fit, and the experience of wearing it day after day. And we didn’t forget to keep it fun, either.”
True to DHaRCO’s playful spirit, each piece features a hidden internal message—things like “We cushion the blow, you handle the show” or “More stoke, less broke” – a reminder that the gear might be serious, but riding should still be fun.
Some of the world’s top athletes—such as Amaury Pierron, Loris Vergier, and Myriam Nicole from the Commencal Muc-Off Team, as well as freeride legends Tom Isted and Kyle Strait—are now riding in the new protection range. Their real-world use and feedback continue to help refine and validate the gear in high-performance conditions.
