Giro Sport Design, the cycling world’s design leader, today launched their first collection of mountain bike pads. As more riders tackle more advanced terrain on increasingly capable trail bikes, Giro Protection is the perfect match for modern MTB trail riding. Giro Protection is engineered with a focus on light weight, breathability, and Renew Series recycled materials, and features pedaling-optimized patterns with custom padding from world leaders in impact protection D3O®. The Giro Loam Elbow Sleeve and Loam Knee Sleeve are available immediately through authorized Giro retailers worldwide and www.giro.com for $109 US/ €109 MSRP and $119 US/ €139 MSRP, respectively. The Lobo Knee Pad is available 20 August for $129 US/ €149 MSRP.

GIRO LOAM KNEE SLEEVE
The Loam Knee Sleeve gives riders an added measure of crash-management, without impeding pedaling performance. Carefully-considered, ride-optimized patterns maximize comfort and breathability in an Italian-made stretch woven compression sleeve. 8mm of integrated, custom-formulated Trivent XTI padding from D3O® enables EN14120 Level 3 impact certification. A hi-vent stretch mesh back panel for optimized moisture management is matched with high Abrasion CAP armor print front for durability and an Evo Grip Cuff that minimizes pedaling interference while still keeping everything in place. Like all Giro Protection, Loam Knee Sleeve is part of our Renew SeriesTM, a designation that indicates a minimum of 50% recycled content by mass, helping to reduce landfill, clean up our oceans, and reduce burden on natural resources.

The Giro Elbow Sleeve pairs custom-formulated 8mm D3OTM Trivent XTI padding with carefully-considered, mobility-maximizing patterns and fabric choices that enhance breathability. A high abrasion CAP armor print protects Renew Series materials including an Evo Grip Cuff, hi-vent stretch mesh back panel, and Italian stretch woven compression sleeve to hold everything in place securely.

GIRO LOBO KNEE PAD
Designed for going big all day, the Lobo Knee Pad’s performance-minded patterns and materials let riders slide it on in the parking lot and keep it on until after the last lap. The 11mm D3O® LP1 insert offers a high level of impact protection while staying the most comfortable at all temperatures and is EN1621 Level 1 Impact Certified. Perforations through the suede microfiber promote air circulation to keep riders dry. A high abrasion CAP armor print adds durability to Renew Series materials including an Evo Grip Cuff, hi-vent stretch mesh back panel, and Italian stretch woven compression sleeve that keeps the pad in place.
