Slacker Virtual Fender Mount Suspension Tool

SLACKER

LAUNCHING INTO THE MTB MARKET

WITH DAKOTAH NORTON AND A GAME-CHANGING SUSPENSION TOOL

July 21, 2025

Slacker, the industry leader in precision suspension setup tools for motorcycles, is proud to announce its expansion into the mountain bike world with the launch of the Slacker Virtual Fender Mount—an innovative solution that eliminates the guesswork from MTB sag measurement. Alongside this launch, Slacker welcomes professional downhill rider Dakotah Norton as its official MTB brand ambassador.

“We’ve built our reputation around empowering riders to unlock their bike’s full potential, and now we’re bringing that same precision to mountain biking,” said Slacker founder Johny Casebeer. “With Dak on board, we’re excited to introduce a smarter, more precise way to dial in your MTB suspension.”

Why Traditional Shock Body Measurements Fall Short

The common practice of measuring sag at the shock body is riddled with flaws that lead to inaccurate, inconsistent setups:

  1. Improper Suspension Settling – You can’t “pump” the suspension to fully settle it before measuring. That means your baseline will be off before you even begin and it will be impossible to get repeatable results.
  2. Cramped Access – Shock bodies are often buried deep within the frame, making accurate measurements difficult. A minor 1–2mm error is easy to make with coil or air shocks. Any error will be amplified by the leverage ratio.
  3. O-Ring Inaccuracy – Setting the O-ring is awkward, and it’s all too easy to nudge it when dismounting or just trying to position yourself on the bike. You may never even realize your reading is wrong.

Here’s the bottom line: a 1–2mm error at the shock becomes a 4–6mm error at the axle due to the leverage ratio. That’s a 3–5% difference in sag—enough to significantly alter how your bike handles.

Introducing the Slacker Virtual Fender Mount

The new Slacker Virtual Fender Mount eliminates these problems entirely by measuring sag directly at the axle, in real-time, with 1:1 accuracy. Slacker shows you the percentage of sag right on the handlebars using the wireless remote or your smartphone. The result? Consistent, repeatable measurements that give riders full confidence in their suspension setup and handling—every time.

Whether you’re racing World Cups or dialing in your trail bike, the Slacker Virtual Fender Mount is the ultimate suspension tuning tool. And with Dakotah Norton using it for testing and setup, it’s already making waves at the highest level of the sport.
