TRANS CALEDONIA
6-Day Enduro Stage Race Across Scotland
June 16, 2025
September 2026 will see the inaugural Trans Caledonia Mountain Bike Enduro race taking place across Scotland. First of its kind, Trans Caledonia will see 80 riders from across the globe explore the very best of Scottish mountain biking over six days.
More than just a race, this six day journey will be a celebration of everything that makes Scotland great. Home to some of the world’s best mountain bike trails; from ribbons of singletrack in ancient pine forests to endless trails on rugged Munros. Combine this with its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, passionate mountain bike community and some of the most progressive access rights in the world, Scotland is the perfect stage for a world-class multi-day mountain bike enduro race. The land of lochs and glens, fairies, haggis, Braveheart and the elusive Loch Ness Monster will provide plenty of stories from the week.
The route for the inaugural event will remain a closely-guarded secret until closer to the time. Riders will travel around Scotland to some of the best and most iconic riding destinations. With so many world class locations to choose from, the event will also evolve over the years ahead to keep the race fresh and showcase more of what Scotland can offer riders.

Riders will experience what we feel offers the best racing and cultural experience in Scotland. With shuttles between venues, uplifted trails, comfortable and welcoming accommodation, cultural experiences and in true Scottish style a Ceilidh to end an incredible week. A combination we feel will give a unique experience of Scotland.
This race was born from a shared vision between former downhill and enduro professional Chris Hutchens and experienced mountain bike guides and racers Katie May and Matt Hale. Each of them, having competed in many multi-day enduro events around the world, had independently recognised the lack of a similar offering on home soil. Now united, they’re bringing their collective experience and passion together to finally deliver the world-class race this destination deserves.
The 2026 event will ignite our legacy as we build towards future editions. The event will provide inclusive opportunities for the wider communities to join in the event as it tours Scotland involving local schools and businesses where possible. Trans Caledonia will be working closely with Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland and local trail associations across the country to continue to raise the profile of Scottish mountain biking and to improve sustainability of the existing trail network, re-open lost trails and where possible build new trails for years to come.
The team is passionate in building towards greater gender parity within mountain biking and hopes to see a greater percentage of females line up to race an unforgettable week of amazing trails.
We will leave a positive impact on the landscapes and communities we visit year-on-year, building partnerships that last to ensure that Trans Caledonia becomes an integral part of the year for more than just bike riders.
With only 80 spots available riders are encouraged to visit www.trans-caledonia.com and register to the mailing list to keep up to date with the latest news on event dates and race entries.
