FIRST RIDE REVIEW

THE 2027 YETI MT

August 25, 2026

Hot on the heels of the recently released LT, the Yeti MT is another meat-powered mountain bke equipped with Yeti’s Sixfinity suspension platform. MT, standing for Mid-Travel, equates to a trail friendly ride with 140mm of rear suspension travel.

It’s early days, but so far we can safely say that Yeti’s new trail mountain bike machine is a certified ripper.

PRESS RELEASE

THE NEW YETI MT

August 25, 2026

THE MOUNTAIN BIKE.

For nearly a decade, the SB130 and SB140 proved to be the most versatile and best-selling bikes in Yeti’s history.

Progressive geometry, short chainstays, and performance that punches way above its travel numbers put this generation of Yetis at the forefront of modern trail bikes.

TRAIL SIXFINITY.

With the 160e proving Sixfinity‘s capability at the highest level of e-MTB racing, we sought to broaden its application beyond enduro. The result was the MTe – the Sixfinity-equipped lightweight trail eMTB built for riders who want that same proven platform in a package tuned for all mountain trail riding.

The MTe continues to prove Sixfinity’s versatility, durability, and performance, all while retaining that coveted Yeti ride feel.

A DECADE 0F SWEATING DETAILS.

JAN 2016 | PROTOTYPE V1 – SIXFINITY

Behind the scenes, Sixfinity has been in development for 10+ years, first conceived by our Engineering team back in 2016 to build on the kinematics we loved so much from Switch Infinity. Sixfinity provides a platform that was infinitely tunable, so a test mule was built and fabricated to test the new platform.

A 27.5 aluminum mule, built on the SB66 and SB95 tube set, machined and built in house and ridden on our local trails, this platform provided a proof of concept for our new kinematic theories. Both pedal and eMTB variants were created, which proved to be invaluable as Yeti approached our first eMTB offerings with the 160e.

CUTTING A NEW MOLD.

In 2019, we then applied the progressive geometry that Yeti helped pioneer with our SB130 and SB150 and cut a carbon mold to further test Sixfinity. Our goals included testing the platform on 29” trail-bike applications and continue to explore tunability.

While alloy mules are quick to develop, we chose to cut a carbon fiber mold so we could better understand the nuanced balance of stiffness, strength, and weight that more closely represents what we would experience in a production version.

We also knew that Sixfinity provided a platform that was uniquely positioned to deliver incredibly tunable power and weight for the newly emerging e-MTB category. We decide the best place to launch the platform was with the 160e.

JULY 2022 | PROTOTYPE – DH SPECIAL PROJECTS

WORLD CUP PROVEN.

When Richie Rude let us know he wanted to get back to World Cup DH, we rallied around him and the Engineering team designed and built the first Special Projects DH bike using Sixfinity. There is no better test than World Cup racing. Over the next few seasons, the Special Projects DH platform brought us back to DH with multiple podiums and a UCI DHI World Series berth for the Yeti / FOX Factory Program.

FEB 2024 | PROTOTYPE – LT SUPER MULE

THE SUPER MULE.

After the commercial and performance success we realized with the 160e and DH Special Project bikes, along with our continued commitment to Sixfinity with MTe and LTe, the decision was made to take Sixfinity to our next generation of pedal trail and enduro bikes.

Before production bike designs began, we wanted to test new ideas. The “Super mule” allowed us to test a wide variety of leverage rates, 6 different chainstay lengths, various bottom bracket heights, head angles, and reach.

By the time thorough testing was done on this bike, we not only had confidence that Sixfinity was ready for pedal, but we had also proven new geometry innovations for the next generation of bikes.

The All New Yeti MT

IT’S TIME

After a decade plus of testing, race-winning performance, and a line of e-MTB bikes that have been praised for their incredible ride performance, Sixfinity is expanding into our line.

THE HELL YES OF SIXFINITY.

Built around the World Cup-winning suspension, Sixfinity gives riders unprecedented traction, composure while pedaling and superior efficiency. Bold statement? Yes, but consider the facts.

Unlike any other platform we’ve ever experienced, its unique six-bar design allows endless tunability for all platforms and assist levels – from DH to eMTB.

Whether acoustic or e-powered, Sixfinity can precisely control acceleration and deceleration responses, while tailoring leverage rates for the intended use case. All with executional fidelity few can achieve.

The All-New Yeti MT

MASTER OF THE SIX BAR.

All six bars control the wheel path and drive the shock for independent
custom-tuned control of acceleration and deceleration – tuned for every
frame size.

KINEMATICS
Sixfinity can achieve maximum control across three key kinematic metrics: Acceleration Response (Anti-Squat), Deceleration Response (Anti-Rise), and Leverage Rate. Tunability is nearly infinite, making Sixfinity highly versatile, and allowing us to tune the desired kinematics independently.

STRUCTURE
With Sixfinity, the loads are optimally distributed, resulting in increased structural triangulation and durability through the travel range. The Sixfinity design enables deliberate, optimal bearing selection and is not constrained by packaging, ensuring the correct bearing is used at each pivot.

SCALING
In addition to the increased kinematic control, Sixfinity enables optimized kinematics for geometric scaling. Each frame size is treated as a unique design, with like parts carefully repositioned to achieve the desired kinematics and geometry, with hardpoints uniquely optimized for each size.

The All-New Yeti MT

ANATOMY OF SIX.

01 ROCKER LINK
Drives shock and critical connection point for timing link to drive switch link.

02 TIMING LINK
Rotates around Rocker Link pivot to drive direction of the switch link.

03 SWITCH LINK
As the Switch Link moves up, pedaling support is delivered, with a higher anti-squat centered at sag extending across the pedaling zone. As the Switch link moves down, the anti-squat sharply drops off for descending performance.

ACCELERATION RESPONSE.

Anti-squat can be tuned precisely at sag to better balance “pedal anywhere” efficiency with descending performance.

With Sixfinity, we maintain the same dual-behavior anti-squat strategy as we deliver with Switch Infinity, but with even greater control. Sixfinity allows additional anti-squat tuning based on power input, travel and ride intent.

Sixfinity Anti-squat magnitudes scale inversely with power assist. The unassisted (power limited) MT anti-squat magnitude is greater than its assisted (traction limited) MTe counterpart. This results in the best balance of efficiency and traction for drastically different systems.

Sixfinity provides a greater fidelity in controlling both the shape and magnitude of the anti-squat curves, while allowing a wide range of anti-rise and leverage outputs, all while balancing efficiency and traction for the exact desired kinematic blend.

DECELERATION RESPONSE.

Sixfinity can be finely tuned to balance traction and geometry preservation while braking, with a near limitless range of anti-rise magnitudes available to choose from.

The magnitude of the MT anti-rise curve is slightly lower than its SB140 predecessor, striking an ideal balance between traction and geometry preservation when braking for each model’s use case.

With carefully tuned anti-rise magnitudes that remain consistent throughout the travel, Sixfinity can stand poised for the inevitable big hit that’s coming when you’re on the brakes providing predictable performance in all braking scenarios.

It’s this trait, combined with the switching behavior of the acceleration response that puts Sixfinity in a performance class all its own.

The All-New Yeti MT

TRAIL READY RATES.

Customize the poppy and lively essence of MT to match your ride. You can tune progressivity between three distinct leverage rates, all with the flip of a chip, and all while preserving geometry, anti-squat and anti-rise.

TAILORED TUNES.

Off the shelf is just a starting point, but in-house shock tuning is the unlock.

Yeti tunes shocks in-house, on every bike, delivering custom shim stacks for all of our models. Working directly with our Engineering, Product and Race teams, Yeti’s R&D Mechanic Dave ‘DZ’ Ziegman runs endless shock tune iterations until the ride characteristics aren’t just good, they’re exactly right for the platform.

Yeti LT

FEATURES

TURQ CARBON ONLY.

The MT is only available in our top-tier TURQ series carbon, built on an optimized schedule of high-performance carbon plies for strength and stiffness, plus Vectran® liquid-crystal-polymer multifilament yarn for increased impact strength.

TURQ carbon is not only our lightest – it also maintains maximum impact resistance, durability and stiffness, all with a fatigue-reducing flex profile to mute trail vibration.

Yeti MT Storage Compartment

THE CAVITY™

Frame storage stashes tools, tubes, snacks, or extra layers, keeping them out of your pockets or pack, and moving the weight low where it works. The bulkhead and frame bag keep things snug inside.

A CNC-machined, roller-cam lever mechanism with detent spring provides a smooth lever action and a positive, secure attachment when closed. The Dual-density door features an over-mold rubber gasket for better fitment and sealing.

ACCESSORY MOUNT.

Additional top-tube accessory mount allows you to carry extras without using external strap solutions.

Yeti MT

PERFECT ALIGNMENT.

The MT carries forward our World Cup winning, precision-machined shock linkage. Designed for perfect shock alignment, it uses floating collet axles and a self-aligning rocker link to further smooth the action, adding to that unreal Sixfinity feel on the trail. Plus, it uses standard sized cartridge bearings to make service no big deal. Sixfinity provides better alignment for improved bearing life and less service for the rider.

Battle tested on the World Cup, Sixfinity has proven to deliver world class reliability. It all adds up to one thing: Speed, baby!

TRAIL GEOMETRY.

Sixfinity isn’t the only thing that helps the MT destroy preconceptions. Its geometry is the epitome of performance refinement, made possible by direct experience testing prototype after prototype until all doubt was in the dust.

To deliver a lively, capable trail bike with unmatched climbing traction, rear center lengths increase on the MT, but not as much as the enduro-focused LT.

The result: a nimble trail bike where longer, size-specific chain stays deliver stability, speed, and balance on every kind of terrain.

It’s one thing to say “zero compromise.” It’s another thing to deliver it.

The MT is the other thing.
