ABOUT THE MET REVO MTB HELMET
PROTECTION | Through rigorous testing and research, Met claims to have brought the Revo Mip’s protection to a level above its predecessors.
The Revo has extended coverage for the back of your head and your temples. Boosting its ability to deal with rotational impacts is a Mips AIR liner, the lightest Mips system for mountain bike helmets so far. A polycarbonate shell is fully wrapped around the EPS liner, ensuring that no EPS is left exposed to damage.
All of that adds up to the Revo Mips achieving NTA-8776 certification. The Dutch safety standard (which was born in response to the higher riding speeds of ebikes and pedelecs) is based on the mandatory EN 1078 standard, but pushes for enhanced protection against high-speed impacts, as well as increased head coverage.

FEATURES | Met’s Safe-T Heta fit system offers 360° head belt adjustment, as well as 3 vertical adjustments, giving you everything you need to find a uniquely individual fit. A Fidlock magnetic buckle makes it quick and easy to secure the helmet, even with winter gloves on, and there’s a glasses port to securely dock your shades when climbing.
VENTILATION | The Revo Mips has 23 vents, which work together with an internal channel system to keep your head cool. In fact, Met claims that the Revo has a ventilation improvement of 23% compared to its predecessor.

THE DIRT
Though there was never a chance that I would look as good in the Met Revo as their model and design advisor Simon Andre (who happens to be an exceptional bike rider too), I still received compliments on the look of the helmet. It strikes a great balance between sharp lines and clean modern aesthetic, making it one of my favorite looking helmets out there right now. But looks are nothing in the helmet space without stellar fit, protection and ventilation, so I’m relieved to say that Met also nailed it with these elements.
Fit is always subjective, but adjustability and wrap-around nature of the Safe-T Heta fit system means that most riders are likely to find the Met helmet sits fairly well. Its shape is quite middling – not too round so as to be uncomfortable on my slightly oval shaped head, but unlikely to cause issue for rounder-headed riders too. As with all helmets it’s important to get your head inside to verify fitment before you buy, but I think Met has struck a nice balance for most here.
On the head, the coverage is notable, both down the back of the skull and the sides of the temple. But this coverage doesn’t cause any stifling feelings that might present on a helmet with poorer air flow. The 23 vents help to pull air over the head, and combine with the thin Mips AIR padded layer to make the Revo amongst the cooler extended coverage mountain bike helmets going.
Glasses storage is solid, and the ability to pop the visor up to stow goggles could come in very handy. It remained stable in use, but has a reassuring level of flex that tell me it won’t snag in a crash. With a Fidlock buckle and effective strap dividers, there’s really nothing I can complain about. As always, I’d love to see the price tag reduced, but it feels like you’re getting what you pay for with the Met Revo.
The Wolf’s Last Word
Offering great coverage, comfort and promising solid protection, the Met Revo helmet is a stellar trail mountain bike helmet. It just so happens to look damn good, too. ![]()
