ABOUT THE STASHED LOADSTAR
The LoadStar, at its core, is a modular storage system designed for cycling gear that you can either build piece-by-piece or opt for one of Stashed’s pre-selected kits. The system is made and designed in the UK. Each kit starts with a 950mm aluminum rail or a 300x400mm board, both sturdy enough to hold up to 30kg of gear. The LoadStar we’ve been hanging our kit on comes stocked with everything you need to build out a solid base setup: two MultiHooks for helmets or bigger bags, an Accessory Tray for tools or spares, two Shoe Pair Hooks, a 90mm Tool Hook, a Double Bottle Holder, and a pair of Sunglasses Holders. In addition to the Cycling Pro Set, we added a panel and another rail to utilize the Stashed dual-wheel holders.
Every piece locks in with Stashed’s torque‑secure interface, and can be positioned at multiple angles to give you a setup that’s customizable to your space. The whole system is also expandable, so when your gear stash inevitably grows, you can keep adding rails or accessories without having to start from scratch.
Built from aerospace‑grade aluminum, powder‑coated steel, and tough composite polymers, the LoadStar line is built with no corners cut. With the purchase of the Pro Cycling Set, you also get a guide to drill holes in the rails. This guide is way overbuilt and shows the lengths Stashed goes to to deliver a quality product.
Stashed backs it all with a no‑nonsense five‑year warranty, and every piece can be serviced or replaced with simple tools. In short, the LoadStar is made to handle daily abuse from riders who’d rather be out pedaling than searching for a missing glove.
The base of our system, the Pro Cycling Set, retails for $459. Our extra rail, panel, and wheel mounts brings the total installed cost to just over $800. Yes, this is expensive; there is no getting around that, but Stashed’s attention to detail and quality of the product shines through.

THE DIRT
CHOOSING YOUR SETUP | To get started, you must take the tough step of deciding what gear you want to store, and whether you are going to opt for a pre-built kit or customize your own. The Pro Set we received, I would say, ticks all the boxes for most of your needs. The wheel holder feels like overkill, but makes the space look good, without a doubt. The wheel hooks would be more useful if I had a trainer I needed to swap wheels over to use. The best advice I could give is to decide what gear you want to store, and go from there.
INSTALLATION | Installing the LoadStar rails was straightforward. There is a card with a QR code that comes with your order. That code leads you to a installation video that covers the various surfaces you can install the rails onto, as well as general outlines of what to do should you need to cut the rails down. Each rail will need holes to be drilled in order to mount it to the wall. The benefit of drilling the holes yourself means that you are not limited to stud placement. The guide tool that comes with the kit works great, feeling way overbuilt for what it does, but it really did help.
In my case, the wall I was installing the rails on was backed with plywood, which meant I did not have to pre-measure the holes perfectly on the rails, making the installation quicker and easier. For the panel, I needed to install drywall anchors, as the studs were not in the proper place for the mounting holes. Setting this was simple, by measuring the spacing at which I wanted the panels on the wall and marking where the anchors would need to be.
It is worth noting that I did the install on my own, but it would have been a bit faster with a second set of hands holding the rails and panel while I measured.
Once the rails and panel were locked in place, all that was left to do was place the attachments where I wanted them. Stashed suggests to build the layout on the ground first, to make sure you leave enough space for the way you plan to store the gear. I would say this was very helpful in seeing where I wanted everything, and is a step I would recommend taking.

USING THE LOADSTAR | Once I played with the layout of all the accessories, I landed on a way to keep the gear I need front and center, so I can stay ahead of the curve and not miss any due dates. The addition of the clothes hanger was clutch for the system I had in my head. The dual hooks that hold the helmets also have full riding kits hung below for easy access. I thought I would really like the glasses storage, but I found that that space would be better used by another universal hook for something like knee pads. If you have the system built up by your turbo trainer, the dual water bottle mounts could be useful, but I see myself swapping this out for another, more modular hook.
I really like the look of the panel board, but feel you get more bang for your buck storage-wise with the rails. You really can’t go wrong with either; it all just comes down to your space and what items you are looking to store.
The Wolf’s Last Word
The Stashed LoadStar ticks every box (except for a budget option) when it comes to customizable storage for your house or garage. While the kit is more expensive than a DIY solution from your local hardware store, you reap the benefits of quality components and a fuss-free install. LoadStar gave my bland office a much-needed facelift. Besides looking good, it has helped me stay organized with gear in our revolving line of product reviews. ![]()
