The Feedback Sports Pro Air Lift Repair Stand is a lightweight, portable, pneumatic lift bike stand. This bike stand is meant for the traveling racer, mobile mechanic, or weekend warrior, featuring a pneumatic lift column that can be pressurized by most air tools and help to take the strain off lifting a heavy bike or eMTB up to 100lbs (45kg).

We’ve been putting the Pro Air Lift through its paces, and now it’s time to share our thoughts.

ABOUT THE FEEDBACK SPORTS PRO AIR LIFT

Feedback Sports designed the Pro Air Lift to provide a portable repair stand with assisted lifting for heavy bikes up to 100lbs (45kg). To provide this lifting function, the Pro Air Lift features a pneumatic system that is activated by a pump to raise the bike to a maximum of 66.5” (169cm). This system uses a schrader valve connection, allowing for most compressors and track pumps to be used. A foot pedal is then used to release air and allow for a controlled lowering of the bike and stand.

Feedback Sports says that on average, a 60lb bike will take just 3 seconds to raise with an air compressor. A high volume tire pump will typically take 12 seconds, while a high pressure pump with a smaller volume will take around 18 seconds.

Folded, the Feedback Sports Pro Air Lift measures 8.6″ x 6.9″ x 45.4″. Set up, it’s about the same size as other stands, though it’s worth noting it uses a tripod base rather than two legs — which I prefer, especially with heavier bikes, thanks to the increased stability it delivers. At 19.4lbs (8.7kg), it’s light enough to be considered portable, and it’s designed to be weatherproof and suitable for tasks like bike washing or maintenance out in the field.

As with most Feedback Sports repair stands, the Pro Air Lift uses their Speed Ratchet + Spinner Knob clamp jaw. This connects to the stand body with a clutch system that allows for a 360-degree rotation, with the tri knob allowing the angle to be locked in place securely.

Coming in at $725 and boasting a three-year warranty, the Feedback Sports Pro Air Lift may be a worthy investment for serious mechanics and hobbyists alike.

THE DIRT

Right out of the box, the Feedback Sports Pro Air Lift made a strong first impression. It’s very well built, feels solid and stable underfoot, and is still light enough to move around with ease. The clamp is a standout: the speed ratchet makes grabbing the seat post very easy, and the locking collar on the shaft is solid and has a nice tactile feel, ensuring your bike won’t slowly lower while you’re working on it.

Dropping the stand to its lowest setting makes clamping in a heavy bike simple, with no wrestling required. From there, a small MTB tire inflator was all it took to raise a 53-pound eMTB up to a comfortable working height. The foot pedal release valve is easy to use and operates at a steady pace, avoiding any sudden “drops” that might cause trouble.

One thing worth noting: with a heavy bike, it helps to lift the frame slightly as you raise and lower the stand to take some weight off the lift column. The travel is noticeably smoother that way. It’s a small technique adjustment, not a major flaw, and after a couple of lifts it was second nature. Overall, Feedback Sports has made a well-engineered stand that makes working on heavy bikes far less of a chore, but it doesn’t come cheap.

The Wolf’s Last Word

After using this stand on a few of my bikes, I’m sold! My initial reaction to a pneumatic bike stand using pressurized air was skeptical, but after using this, I’d rather have this than an electric version. Living in Phoenix, AZ, working on your bike in your living room becomes the norm in the summertime, and the low weight of the Pro Air Lift makes it so easy to move around. This will definitely join me on my bike trips, in the living room, or outside whenever I need to work on my bike.
