FEEDBACK SPORTS HEX & TORX WRENCH SET REVIEW
Review by Nathan Sharpe
June 27, 2025
Two staples of every bike mechanic’s toolbox, whether at home or for the aspiring World Cup level professional, is a Hex and Torx wrench set. Bikes are full of various-sized hardware that secure everything from grips to bars, pedals to cranks and of course, wheels to frames. Full disclosure, Feedback Sports is our official tool sponsor here at the Wolf Den Studio, so as to not potentially skew any impressions of the tools, we asked if they’d be willing to give away a few sets along with a discount code for our Members. We were stoked they said yes and we gave away some shiny new tools in our Member’s Platform as well as FIVE $100 gift cards. One of our awesome members named Nathan Sharpe told us he’d love to test out some new tools as he loves working on his bike. We sent him two of Feedback Sport’s newer Hex and Torx wrench sets to try out and share his honest opinion of them.

ABOUT THE FEEDBACK SPORTS HEX AND TORX WRENCH SET
Both the Feedback Hex and Torx wrenches are made from S2 Steel with magnetized heads and laser etched sizing identification. The hex wrench set includes nine sizes: (1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm); the Torx wrench set includes nine sizes as well: (T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40, T45 and T50). Each set includes a simple case that has sizes marked to keep things organized.
THE DIRT
The Feedback Sports Hex and Torx Wrench sets are overall a good example of a staple item in the toolbox. Durable material with easy identification markings enables reliable use and confidence. At $35USD per set (price on their website) it is a reasonably priced item. Similar offerings from Park Tools are a slightly more affordable, albeit missing a couple of the features Feedback Sports offers, whereas Wera Tools offers a comparable tool package for about $10USD more per set.
Over the past couple of months, I have used the wrench sets without any major issues. The anti-slip ribbed heads of the hex wrenches provided a secure feel, and the magnetized ends came in handy when installing bolts in hard-to-reach places. Both sets include all the sizes you would expect to encounter.
I do have one minor grievance with the magnetized ends though; on occasion the magnetized end will hold onto a bolt I didn’t intend to fully pull out. For instance, when removing the bolts from my stem face plate to remove handlebars I like to loosen the bolts and leave them in the faceplate, so it is easier to put back on all together. I have had a couple moments where the magnet pulled the bolt out and then I ended up dropping the bolt resulting in a frantic search around my garage floor. Perhaps you would get used to this and adjust, so I wouldn’t consider this a con as much as a minor adjustment in use.
One other minor tester note is that the Torx wrenches do not have the open hole in the head that is useful for certain security type bolts. You don’t typically see this style bolt used for bike hardware, although I have a few bike accessories that utilize the Torx security bolts. For example, I have an Airtag holder that mounts as a plug in the bottom of a fork steerer tube that uses a T25 bolt with the security pin in the center. Again, not a major issue but would be nice to see this feature on the Torx wrenches.
The only major complaint I had involved the faceted ball ends of the hex wrenches. The idea behind these is that you can reach bolts at angles where otherwise they would be difficult to reach straight on. The Feedback Sports wrenches have a slight pointed end on the head of the ball which on some shallower bolt heads caused the wrench to roll out of the bolt possibly damaging the bolt if you applied too much force. This is most noticeable on the smaller size bolts. Comparing them to a set of wrenches I have had in my toolbox for a few years now the pointy end is noticeable on the Feedback Sports wrench whereas my other wrenches are flat. I think a flat end would be a better finish here and provide a more secure fit.
The Wolf’s Last Word
The Feedback Sports Hex and Torx Wrench sets provide a durable easy to identify packaged kit that offer some unique features making them perfect for the toolbox. They are easy to travel with or toss in the truck for those quick trail head bolt checks.
