The newly release Maxxis Minion DHX is receiving a lot of attention, and rightly so. The Maxxis Minion tire is arguably one of the most legendary tire families in mountain bike history. The new DHX tire sports a completely new tread pattern and is the first tire to sport the new Maxxis DH casing. It’s their new philosophy to compete with the growing crop of Radial tires that seek to deliver a large contact patch, more damped feel and better performance all around.
We sat down with Maxxis employee Sean Day to learn more about their development, theories and what goes into making a new casing and tread pattern.
