ELK DIARY

SILVER MOUNTAIN’S NEWEST TRAIL

May 22, 2026

Silver Mountain is rolling into the 2026 season with something for riders looking to level up their jumping prowess. New for this year is “Elk Diary,” a blue-rated jump and flow trail designed to bridge the gap between intermediate and advanced riders. Built with progression in mind, Elk Diary features approachable tabletops, small gaps, and predictable lips that let beginner and intermediate riders build skills without the intimidation factor of full-blown jump lines. We had the chance to preview the new trail prior to opening day!

The trail slots in as a key addition to Silver’s growing bike park network, offering a clear level of progression for riders who’ve been eyeing jumps but haven’t quite committed. It’s the kind of trail you can lap all day—sessioning features, finding flow, and gradually pushing comfort zones.

Even better, opening weekend is shaping up to be a big one. For the first time, Silver Mountain plans to have every trail open for day one, kicking things off Saturday, May 23rd. That means full access to everything from tech to jump lines right out of the gate, no mid-season waiting game!
