As we have had a rather cold month here in Spokane with lows in the teens and even a few subzero nights, I have had way too much time on my hands. With the wheels turning during boredom, I came up with the idea to use some old parts to turn the Ari Superior Peak DH bike into something I can pedal at my local trails.

The worst part about owning a DH bike is waiting for the parks to open if you do not have access to a shuttle zone. Is a dropper post and a 12-speed cassette all you really need to enjoy your DH bike year-round? Well, I am here to do some investigating!

This first video is all about the build, since there is snow on the ground, I won’t be able to get the bike onto the dirt for at least 2 weeks. So, stay tuned to see how this thing rides! Have you done this to a DH bike before? Is it a good idea? Let us know in the comments!
