Revelstoke Mountain Resort to Host
Casey Brown’s Invitational Dark Horse Event

Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Jigsaw Event Services, and Casey Brown have joined forces to create a Pro-Line that will set the stage for Dark Horse— a women’s specific invitational freeride event.

Modeled along the same lines as FEST SeriesDark Horse will feature some of the world’s best female mountain bike athletes. Set amidst the stunning Selkirk and Monashee Mountains, the course has been designed in a similar manner to Dream Track in New Zealand, featuring six jumps, a smaller progression line, and an airbag and mulch jump.

“My vision is to create a women’s freeride event that is welcoming, inclusive and focused on progression,” said Casey Brown. “I’ve had a dream to build a proper jump line for a while. My hope is that this event will become an annual celebration for women on bikes and shine a light on women’s freeriding.”

The camp will take place from August 16-20, 2021 for a roster of 8-12 invitation-only athletes. Unlike a traditional contest, this camp is designed to be inclusive and welcoming. However, that doesn’t mean that prizes aren’t on the line! Over the course of four days, athletes will be judged amongst their fellow riders to determine who deserves the Dark Horse title.

After the event is complete, the Pro-Line will be added to the Resort’s official trail network and open to the public—leaving a lasting legacy for the city of Revelstoke, and the mountain bike community at large.

The Dark Horse Invitational has been made possible by the financial support of the Province of British Columbia’s Resort Municipality Initiatives Funding Program. Official media partner, Beta Magazine will be covering all aspects of the event in conjunction with Anthill films, documenting some of the event for their Return to Earth documentary series. Jigsaw Event Services is currently recruiting sponsors for this event with several sponsorship tiers and opportunities available.
