A cold winter in Oregon has made for some proper winter gear testing time. On the wettest, coldest days though, we always found ourselves reaching for the Havoc H20 kit. With fully water proof fabrics and lots of warmth, it’s the type of gear you need to survive one of those, “is it really worth riding” days.

The Wolf’s Last Word

The Giro Havoc H20 kit has been very handy this wet winter. I’ve tested it in cold, wet and grimy days and haven’t had a bit of moisture work it’s way through. All of the features like Velcro adjusters, taped seams and zippers are well designed and executed. We really like the Ripstop Cordura sleeve lowers, as they ensure the jacket will last through all of our muddy toboggan slides down the mountain.

We wish they’d sent us the black kit, as it would blend into the elements a bit more, but after seeing these photos, it’s clear to see why red is the default media sample color. Can’t be missed! Giro has done a great job creating a waterproof kit that is comfortable to wear yet still has some zipped-in breathability for when the rain slows down, or the terrain points up.
