EPISODE ONE: IN THE SHADOWS
As life became more complicated and busy, the rider and monster inside Dylan was torn away and trapped in an alternate dark world of confusion and struggle. This went unnoticed by Dylan as he was swept away by life’s responsibilities such as school and work. But Dylan’s monster was in a constant struggle to return to its host, much like a virus. This rider was in a race to close the gap between itself and Dylan. It would fail many times and often feel lost, but the gap would slowly shrink. As this gap shrunk, the path for the rider would become slightly clearer and it would start to affect Dylan in his reality. As a virus, it would start to take over unexpectedly and he would be helpless to feeling sick to the riders uninvited presence. As it affected Dylan more, the rider would have greater control and be able to alter Dylan’s decisions slightly. Dylan would start to feel an addiction to the presence and an acceptance to the rider meant they would both be working towards a final symbiosis where the rider would finally have full control again in Dylan’s reality. After Dylan is able to release the restraints of his responsibilities that had been tethered to him for so long, he would finally excel at his true love of riding and the monster inside him would no longer be lost.
ABOUT DYLAN CRANE
I have been racing mountain bikes for 7 years now in gravity-based disciplines. I have also been attending the University of Colorado Boulder since 2014 and will be graduating this December with a major in Economics and a minor in Technology Arts and Media. During that time I have been a three-time Collegiate National Champion. As most people know, school is very time consuming and while it has given me a lot, it has also taken away a large chunk of time from riding and racing as my true passion and the direction I wish to pursue. After I graduate I will be starting as a full-time athlete with the hopes to compete in the entire Crankworx World tour as well as continue to improve as a media creator.
