Berria BIKE
THE Mako Hybrid GT emtb
Spanish performance bicycle brand Berria has today unveiled its flagship electric mountain bike – the Mako Hybrid GT.
A super-fast, light and ultra-responsive all-mountain e-bike, the Mako Hybrid GT is suitable for both trail and enduro use. Its customizable geometry, range and kinematics gives riders total freedom to ride further, harder and faster on any terrain. The Mako Hybrid GT’s frame weighs just 2,600g and is constructed from Berria’s own HM2X carbon. This state-of-the-art composite incorporates a reinforced Mach R resin, allowing it to stand up to the hardest terrain whilst also delivering highly efficient power transfer between rider and bike. Its motor is Polini’s flagship E-P3+ MX model, weighing in at just 2,950g but capable of producing 250W (600W peak) and 90Nm of torque. This market-leading power unit offers five different ride modes, accelerations of 4.5m/s² and up to 25km/h of assistance, all managed by the rider using an integrated Thin-film transistor display embedded in the toptube. The Mako Hybrid GT also comes equipped with a lightweight and long-lasting Samsung INR21700-50E battery, encased in a fully integrated, quick release system, while an easy-to-fit battery extender is also available for riders wanting to maximise their time on the bike. As for fork options, three of RockShox’ latest generation have been included across the range (the 35 Gold RL, Pike Select and Lyrik Ultimate), offering between 150 and 160mm of travel and all featuring their top-of-the-range Super Deluxe Ultimate air-sprung shock absorbers.Berria has also introduced a new standard 1.8-inch steerer which offers better handling, more stiffness, and allows riders to go faster on any descent.
Riders can switch between Endurance and Race set-ups using the flip chips in the seatstay to alter the levels of regression, spring rate and rebound damping. In terms of geometry, the headtube angle decreases from 64.8° to 65.2° and the bottom bracket to rear axle measurement increases from 146mm to 151mm. These changes result in increased performance, comfort and handling, whatever the conditions. Other features include: – Battery extender (252 Wh, 1,305g) – ICS2 internal cable routing – Universal derailleur hanger – 80ms power cut off – ISC V-MAX bearings – Block Lock protection on the steerer (+/- 60 degrees) – Downtube block protection – Speed sensors – SRAM UDH dropout – Anti-mud flap – Flip chipsThe Mako Hybrid GT is the latest release from the independent Albacete-based brand which also produces high-performance road and gravel bikes, providing riders with an unrivaled cycling experience.
The bike represents an evolution of its popular predecessor, the Mako Hybrid HP. All the learnings from the development of that bike, and the feedback received from riders who rode it, have been applied to this latest incarnation, and the results put the Mako Hybrid GT in a class of its own. This next-generation model is also the most versatile yet, with its five modes of assistance enabling riders to enjoy both epic adventures on the trails and the ability to send it downhill when the going gets tough. The Mako Hybrid GT is a bike able to meet the needs of even the most demanding and experienced of riders. It is available in four different versions, with the same frame, motor and battery being paired with varying high-end specifications of drivetrain, fork and wheels at each pricepoint. As with all Berria bikes, each model can be configured using the company’s custom BerriaDesign program. Riders are able to customize the bike in their own unique style, ensuring every Mako Hybrid GT offers a totally bespoke ride.Berria CEO David Vitoria said: www.berriabikes.com and from authorized Berria dealers.
“The Mako Hybrid GP is a no-compromise performance bike aimed at experienced riders who demand the very best but still want to have fun. No stone was left unturned in its production. “The result is an ebike that is not only lightweight and responsive but also incorporates one of the fastest motors on the market and a battery with a massive range. Its customizable geometry, kinematics and components also give riders the ability to push their boundaries on any terrain, and in the most demanding races on the planet. There are very few ebikes out there that tick all those boxes.” Berria’s Mako Hybrid GT is available now viaLEAVE A COMMENT, WIN FREE SWAG!
