Support SCMTS, Win a 5010

Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship and Santa Cruz Bicycles are teaming up to raise funds for local trail stewardship and give away a 5010 CC mountain bike to one lucky winner.

Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship (SCMTS), a 501(c)(3) trail stewardship organization, today announced its new three-week “Support Trails and Win a Santa Cruz” sweepstakes. This year, the nonprofit teamed up with the folks at Santa Cruz Bicycles to give away one 5010 CC X01 AXS RSV mountain bike worth $10,649 USD to raise funds for local trail stewardship and maintenance throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains region. This fundraiser will directly support SCMTS’ Timeless Trails work, including 19 miles of new trail at Cotoni-Coast Dairies, fire relief on trails throughout Big Basin State Park, and inclusivity-focused volunteer trail work programs and events. The giveaway closes on Friday, October 28 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Interested parties can enter to win here.

Santa Cruz Bicycles and the company’s PayDirt fund have long supported SCMTS. The partnership has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars to fuel new local trails and pump tracks, including Sawpit Trail reroute in Soquel Demonstration State Forest (opened in 2020) and the Westside Pump Track (opened in 2021) right in front of the Santa Cruz Bicycles HQ.

SCMTS has set a fundraising goal of $75,000 for this campaign. All contributions will support the nonprofit’s efforts to:

• Build and open 19 miles of trail at Cotoni-Coast Dairies Unit of the California Coastal National Monument just north of the City of Santa Cruz

• Restore and rebuild trails throughout Big Basin State Park following the devastating wildfires of 2020

• Introduce more–and more diverse–community members to trail stewardship and the magic of the outdoors with fun volunteer events and educational program.
