The New Speedframe RS Helmet

We were able to catch a sneak peek of the new upcoming Fox Racing flagship trail helmet – the Speedframe RS. Fox kindly shared the details of this new top-tier trail lid, so here’s all that we know:

The Speedframe RS will sit at the top of the Fox Racing trail helmet lineup, and features all of the premium technologies of their recently released Proframe RS, but in a trail-friendly open-face shell design.

The largest change from the Speedframe Pro is the inclusion of the new, exclusive MIPS Integra Split protection system. This uses a dual density foam setup in a two-shell design, with a low-friction layer used to allow each shell to slide independtly of one another. A split inner EPP shell handles low speed impacts, while the in-molded EPS outer shell is designed to handle the high speed impacts. These shells are seperated by elastomer “woofers” to control the 10-15mm of rotation between one another, which promises to reduce peak rotational forces during a crash and better protect the brain.

A BOA fit system is featured to offer a highly adjustable fit and keep the Speedframe RS secure on the head. There’s a three-position adjustable visor with a central control rail to ensure the visor stays facing straight when adjusted. And below this visor, specific channels are featured with rubberised coatings to allow sunglasses to dock and remain secure while riding.

The remainder of the features carry over from the Speedframe Pro, with proven performance and quality. The Fidlock SNAP magnetic helmet buckle is used to make fastening and removing the helmet quick and easy. An Ionic+ comfort liner is in place to offer antimicrobial and anti-odor properties and help to keep the Speedframe RS fresh.

The Fox Speedframe RS helmet will be released in Spring 2024 in a choice of six colors in three sizes, with an RRP of $275 / £ 239.99 / €249.99
