GIANT BICYCLES

Taiwan’s Giant Manufacturing was founded by King Liu in Taiwan in 1972.

At that time Giant started manufacturing bikes for some of the world’s top cycling brands. In 1981 the Giant brand was born, and Giant-branded bikes hit the market, first in Taiwan and then Europe, North American and all over the world. In 1987 Giant introduced the CADEX carbon fiber road bikes. They were one of the first bike manufacturers to use computer-aided design and volume production techniques in the production of carbon fiber road bikes.

Giant’s history with mountain biking racing started in 1995 when they sponsored their first World Cup mountain bike team with the legendary John Tomac and cross-country star Rune Hoydahl. In 2004 Giant introduced their Maestro Suspension Technology; a suspension platform that they are still using today. The Maestro system features four pivot points to neutralize pedaling and braking forces and allows the suspension to remain fully active on a wide variety of trails.

In Giant’s recent history they have gained popularity with full suspension bikes using the Maestro system. Models like their downhill race bike the Glory, their do it all enduro bike the Reign and their popular trail bike the Trance.

Giant continues to produce bikes for every discipline of cycling in both carbon and aluminium. And with more than 12,000 Giant retailers worldwide it is never difficult to find the Giant bike you are interested in.
